Grow with Optio!

Who We Are
We’ve worked hard on what we’re building.
But we’ve worked just as hard - maybe even harder - on how we work as a team.
The way we make decisions.
The way we lead (formally and informally).
The way we build trust, give feedback, deal with mistakes, and move forward together.
Some of it came naturally. Some of it didn’t. So we decided to write it down. For us, mostly. To stay clear about what kind of team we’re building, and what we want to hold onto as we grow.
It turned into a Culture Playbook. We didn’t plan to share it. But in case you’re joining us, collaborating with us, or just curious what it’s like behind the scenes - here it is

Why we exist
Our purpose has always been simple: empower businesses to offer equity to employees globally with maximum impact.
Our Co-Founders, Christoffer and Mats, didn’t set out to just build software. They set out to solve a problem that had frustrated companies and employees for years — the confusing, messy world of equity compensation. They believed ownership should be a source of connection and motivation, not confusion and paperwork. Because when ownership is clear and accessible, it becomes a powerful driver of engagement, loyalty, and success — for both businesses and individuals.
Optio exists to make ownership matter.

Core Values
Driven
We set bold goals and relentlessly pursue continuous improvement. Progress motivates us — not just for the sake of ticking boxes, but because we believe there’s always a smarter, better way to do things. We take initiative, expect high standards from ourselves and each other, and embrace challenges as opportunities to grow.
Resourceful
Being resourceful isn’t just about working with what we have — it’s about making the absolute most of it. We approach challenges with curiosity, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset, knowing that the best solutions often come from the moments when things don’t go according to plan.
Trustworthy
Trust is the foundation for everything we do. We act with integrity and follow through on our commitments, even when conversations are tough or decisions are difficult. We do what we say we'll do — and we take full ownership of our responsibilities, ensuring that our colleagues and customers know they can rely on us. Trust here is built through consistency, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
Friendly
We celebrate successes, navigate challenges together, and enjoy our collaboration. Respect guides us, but true friendliness goes beyond niceties. It means being honest and constructive when needed — because support sometimes requires difficult truths delivered thoughtfully.
How we work
At Optio, when you see a problem, you take responsibility and fix it. Ownership here isn’t just about accountability; it’s about being proactive, solving problems, and caring about the long-term success of what we’re building together.
Trust and transparency is a part of everything. We move too fast for second-guessing and closed doors. That’s why we share information freely, give and receive feedback with curiosity, and have clear, honest conversations — not because it’s easy, but because it makes us better. We own setbacks, learn fast, and keep moving.
And through it all, one thing has never changed: business is about people. We lead with our heads and our hearts — using data to guide us, but never losing sight of empathy, care, and respect. It’s a way of working that started with two founders who believed you could be ambitious and kind at the same time.
Leadership in Optio
From the very beginning, our founders set a tone where leadership meant rolling up your sleeves, trusting the people around you, and building a culture where psychological safety wasn’t something you talked about — it was something you felt. It was about showing up, being real, and helping others win — sometimes even by laughing at your own mistakes. Four key pillars now define our leadership approach.
Integrity. Lead by example with honesty and accountability. Follow through on commitments, make ethical decisions, and build trust through consistency.
Commitment to Excellence. Champion a culture of growth and innovation. Challenge the status quo and contribute to a sustainable, high-performing future.
Empowerment. Provide autonomy and independence. Trust people to take ownership of their work, offering support and guidance. Turn failures into opportunities for learning.
Accountability. Own your decisions and mistakes. Be transparent when you don't have the answers. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and growth.
