Optio Financial Services Limited (OFS) is our regulated entity in Malta, providing trading and custody services to clients in connection with equity compensation. OFS provides these services to stock market listed corporate clients and their employees plus trusts associated with supporting equity compensation.
Role
The Operations Associate supports the operations team in the execution of day-to-day operational and back-office activities. The role focuses on transaction processing, settlement support, record maintenance, and administrative operational tasks, while operating within a clearly defined control framework.:
Operational Processing and Support
Support daily operational activities including trade processing, settlement coordination, and processing of cash and securities movements.
Assist with the execution of client asset movements, withdrawals, and internal transfers, in accordance with approved procedures.
Support safeguarding-related operational tasks, including preparation of data and supporting documentation for safeguarding sweeps.
Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and checklists to support the firm’s control environment.
Ensure all operational activities are supported by appropriate documentation and evidencing standards.
Identify and promptly escalate operational errors, breaks, or incidents to the Operational Manager or relevant team members.
Settlement and Counterparty Support
Assist with settlement processes by preparing settlement instructions and liaising with internal teams under supervision.
Support operational interaction with counterparty banks, custodians, and brokers by gathering information and responding to routine queries.
Track settlement statuses and escalate delays or discrepancies to the Operational Manager.
Provide general operational support across the operations team, including assisting the Reconciliation Manager and other operational roles as required.
Support system testing, data validation, and process walkthroughs as part of platform development or change initiatives.
Assist with the preparation of information for audits, regulatory inspections, and internal reviews.

Skills & Experience
The Operational Associate possesses the following skills and experience:
1–3 years’ experience in an operations, settlements, or back-office role within financial services.
Basic understanding of securities, cash movements, and settlement processes.
Basic understanding of AML requirements and operational controls.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
Comfortable working in a controlled environment with clear supervision and escalation pathways.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience supporting custody, settlement, or share plan operations is an advantage.
