As a Product Manager at Optio, you will work in a tech-focused company alongside other skilled people where camaraderie and knowledge exchange is part of the daily work. We are driven and ambitious, and we have fun along the way.
As we are growing to make our vision a reality, one of our four cross-functional product teams needs a product manager.
The role 🎯
“At a high level, a product manager (PM) is the single cross-functional owner directly responsible for the success of a product.”
This means that it’s ultimately your responsibility that the team makes the right decisions on what to build when. You don’t have to, and probably should not, make all the decisions yourself, but you need to make sure that the decisions being made are good.
You are also responsible for stakeholder management. This means keeping customers and colleagues informed of what you are working on and planning.
Responsibilities
- Understand and communicate what our users are trying to achieve
- Understand and communicate how the product solves problems and delivers value
- Ensure that customer input is used effectively in product development
- Collect and analyze data on how the product is used
- Make sure that priorities are in line with the company strategy
- Identify problems worth solving
- Manage stakeholders
- Manage the expectations of customers and Optio employees.
- Pay particular attention to other product teams. What are they working on? How does it relate to your team?
You
You are an experienced product manager, or perhaps an experienced designer or user researcher looking to move into product management. You have a deep understanding of agile principles and have experience with modern product discovery methods.
As we are building our product management competency, we are looking to fill some gaps. The main gaps we have identified are:
- Seniority: While we have driven and talented PMs, we need someone with a bit more time under their belt.
- Non-Expert Users: We come from a B2B world, but we have tens of thousands of non-expert users. Therefore, you ideally have experience building products for users with widely varying knowledge about the topic.
- Design/User Research: Our current product managers have mainly technical or subject matter backgrounds. Complementing that with design or user research expertise would be beneficial.
While not a gap, it would also be nice if you had a background in HR and/or finance, as we are working in the intersection between these two areas.
